    Summary:
"In the film industry, Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy were Hollywood's original comedy team. The pair met on the set of Lucky Dog, but it was nearly a decade before the duo collaborated on another project. It was apparent from the start that together, Laurel and Hardy had a unique chemistry-a perfect mix of slapstick comedy and precise punch line delivery that put them in an entirely different class. Much of their partnership's success is due to their characters' night and day personalities in contrast with their steadfast friendship. The persona of Laurel was portrayed as a dimwitted but sweetly innocent clown, while Hardy's character was pompous and arrogant-believing himself to be clever but always ending up looking like a bigger fool than his simple-minded counterpart. For three decades, the hilarious twosome made more than one hundred films-twenty-seven of which were features-and more than fifty comedy shorts, resulting in an Academy Award®. In 1960, three years after the death of Hardy, Laurel received an Academy Award® for his 'creative pioneering in the field of cinema comedy.' But Stan never forgot his partnership with Oliver, and even in his retirement, long after Hardy's death, Laurel continued to create scenes and dialogue for the comedic duo Laurel & Hardy. From their silent movies to their feature films, the uproarious antics and bumbling behaviors of this beloved team live on, continuing to delight audiences with their treasured films, forever remaining the first, the original, Kings of Comedy."--Container.
