This board book, shaped to look like Santa's head, offers a simple and not-too-saccharine review of a family's activities during the holiday season. Ma and Pa dance, carolers sing, Grandma bakes, Grandpa eats, and everyone laughs because Santa will arrive soon. The illustrations incorporate glittery, fuzzy, and/or sparkly effects, but the clever, stylized cartoons stand on their own and nicely interpret the text. Or rather, the lyrics that make up the text. A free MP3 file of the song, performed by Rogell, can be downloaded. Even without the bells and whistles, this title is an adequate addition to a preschool storytime.
