Summary:
"Born in 1934, Anita Helfgott Ekstein is a Holocaust survivor from Poland. In this memoir she recounts the events of her childhood during the Holocaust: living in a ghetto, being separated from her parents, and hiding as a non-Jew with a Polish Catholic family. After World War II, Anita, now an orphan, reunites with her aunt, and they move to Canada to start a new life. Anita continues to maintain a relationship with her rescuers, and the family is named Righteous Among the Nations in 1998."--From publisher.
