Summary:
"On August 4, 1914, Canada declared war on Germany. On that date, all those listed within this book , men and women, were alive. All were born in Nova Scotia. By the end of 1922, when official recording of deaths as a result of the war ended, they had all died. All died in a variety of ways such as killed in action, died as a result of wounds suffered on the battlefield, in casualty clearing stations behind the lines and in hospitals in France, the United Kingdom and Canada. The aim of this book is to bring under one cover a list of all those Nova Scotia born casualties of the First World War that were members of the Canadian Expeditionary Force."--From page 7.
