Summary:
"Mankind is the first volume of a trilogy that is considered to be the author's masterpiece. The other two novels "Ragnhild" and "Siste Leveåre" will be published next year in a book in the book club. The work is tightly composed, dramatically, intrusive in its perception of humanity and deep in its problem. The root of "Mankind" is how far the battle against the wound must be conducted - this is another sentrait motive at Duun. In the center stands the luminous clean Ragnhild, the father-in-law Didrik Dale sums up the wounded spirit of Stavsund and his eldest son Håkon-Ragnhild's man. Olav Dunn has elevated the story of the people of Stavsund to a universal human content, to an actuality that belongs to all of us. The book club edition is illustrated by the young talented artist Finn Graf.'--Google translate from the Norwegian.
