Summary:
"During her long life, Elizabeth Goudie has seen enormous changes come to the lives of her fellow Labradorians. Those changes are embodied by two of her eight children: Horace, who sometimes still goes out onto the trap lines in winter; and Joe, a member of the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly. Elizabeth, author of the memoir Woman of Labrador, recalls life in the old days--when the doctor came around twice a year, and when her husband would go out trapping for months at a time. We also go out into the woods with Horace, and visit the massive Churchill Falls hydro project with Joe. The two brothers share a fondness for the past now lost, and an optimism about the bright possibilities the future may hold for resource-rich Labrador. The Tenth Frontier is a 12-part series highlighting 50 years of NFB films from and about Newfoundland and Labrador. From touching personal stories, to portraits of public figures, to windows on ways of life now past, The Tenth Frontier is a treasure of historical films and fresh perspectives."--NFB.
