    Summary:
Franklin was eager to be just like his older cousin Teddy Roosevelt. He dressed like Teddy, he talked like Teddy and he even took the same jobs that Teddy once held. But when he became stricken with polio, Franklin overcame not only the physical challenges, but the hurdle of convincing citizens he was fit for public office. First he became governor of New York and then when the Great Depression hit, Franklin ran and was elected President. Never one to back down in the face of trouble, He immediately went to work to start restoring American business. His programs created jobs everything from building bridges to travelling circuses. Slowly but surely the country started to heal. It would take many years to bring the U.S. all the way back from the brink, but he had started the process, Nice work, Franklin!
