Summary:
"At the age of 18, Frank Dyke joined the 59 Heavy (Newfoundland) Regiment and fought in WWII. In 1955, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served at a number of postings including Goose Bay, Fort Churchill, and France. At the end of his military career, he took a job with the Department of External Affairs, spending two years at the Embassy in Moscow. Later he was a radio operator offshore in Venezuela, the North Sea, and on the Ocean Ranger. After this he began working for the United Nations as a Communications Director, travelling to Khartoum, Sudan, with the UN World Food Program during a time of rampant famine. To Be Frank brings to life the most memorable adventures of this extraordinary Newfoundlander."--Provided by publisher.
