    Summary:
In his 2005 book, Lost in the Woods: the Lure and History of Roxbury, author Dave Whitman introduced the world to the abandoned logging village on the South Mountain, in Annapolis County, Nova Scotia, near the Communities of Paradise and Lawrencetown, situated along the Roxbury Road Trail, about six kilometers south of Highway 201. Roxbury continues to attract hikers, geocachers, genealogists and history buffs. This ghost town has a lure that keeps bringing people back to a time in history when lumbering was the prime industry and frontier living was the norm. The grave yards, stone walls, the wells and the old foundations are still there giving evidence of a once thriving settlement. Most of the original families had moved out by 1910.
