    Summary:
As written by Toni's niece Marilyn: "Diagnosed with tuberculosis at age 13, years of her life passed by as she valiantly fought the disease. She grew to become a beautiful, smart lady, but was unable to regain her health and passed away four months short of her twenty-fifth birthday. This is an account of her life as taken from her diary from January 1947, until June, 1950. The final year and a half of her life, from April 1949 until June 1950, she was among hundreds of patients treated at the Nova Scotia Sanatorium in Kentville, Nova Scotia."--From KingsCountyMuseum.ca website.
"This book contains two stories -- the first being an account of the last three and a half years of Aunt Toni's life, as recorded in her diary ... The second story tells of the once very well known Nova Scotia Sanatorium in Kentville, Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia. From its opening in 1904, until closing in 1977, this was a unique and valuable treatment institution for those suffering from the dreaded disease, tuberculosis. Referred to in earlier times as "galloping consumption", it was usually fatal"--From page 3.
"Author Marilyn Jones was born on Cape Breton Island. She now lives in Cottage Cove, on the coast of the Bay of Fundy. She is the author of Stories to Tell and Stories to Tell II."--From back cover.
