Description:
242 p. : ill. ; 28 cm.
Summary:
Limited studies were initiated in St. Margaret's Bay in June and July 1966, in order to establish some of the very gross characteristics of the Bay. With this background the 1967, 1968 and 1969 program was designed to provide more detailed spatial and temporal information on tides and tidal currents, residual circulation, temperature and salinity structure, as well as the fluctuations in parameters ranging from a period of a few days to those occurring on a seasonal basis. From the extensive field measurement program, it was hoped that one would both obtain a reliable description of the physical oceanography of the Bay, and establish some of the fundamental features that determine the circulation, flushing and behaviour of such coastal embayments.
