TaijiFit, the exclusive OPTUM-contracted provider, stands ready to deliver the full ask of the Mission Act’s tai chi services with the Tai Chi for Veterans program. To achieve this goal, TaijiFit maintains partnerships with community leaders and veteran organizations. Since 2018, TaijiFit has trained instructors nationwide specialized in veterans’ needs, providing workshops focused on common veteran’s issues, including living with PTSD, suicidal ideation response, meditation, overall fitness, and weight loss. David-Dorian Ross leads an easy class to help you: • experience the flow of tai chi, and moving meditation • improve your mental health and cognitive function • increase your cardiovascular fitness and metabolism • prevent common diseases, including arthritis, diabetes, and high blood pressure • experience relief from chronic pain and develop inner peace. In this program dedicated to veterans, you can now access tai chi’s clinically-based improvements of strength,balance, flexibility, and mobility while reducing stress. VA Pain Management, Behavioral Health, Orthopedics, Physical Therapy, and others may utilize this program for veterans without concerns of space and time constraints, or long travel times for veterans. TaijiFit’s devotion to veterans in collaboration with community support will aid in a decrease of veteran pharmaceutical use and suicide rates while improving the health and wellbeing of all participants. For our nation’s veterans, TaijiFit is the calm in the storm.
