The stories include first person accounts of sailing the Bay of Fundy, living a Tom Sawyer/Huck Finn type of childhood and visiting the places called "home." The author's grandfather was a sea captain of three masted shooners. The book tells the story of his sailing, and his invention and patenting of a tidal engine to harness the tide of the Bay of Fundy for Electricity in 1920. His invention was one hundred years too soon. Also included are stories and information relating to Hatfield Point, Cambridge Narrows, the Spraggs, Akerleys and other relatives. There’s a story about Walter Akerley, Zena Akerley, Aunt Ella Maude Akerley, Willard Akerley and more.
