Description:
1 volume (unpaged) : colour illustrations ; 12 x 17 cm.
Notes:
The book includes lots of "What do you think?" and suggestions as to what each person might have been thinking. There are no right or wrong answers to these questions. They are there simply to grow creativity, compassion, and conversation!
"The Road from Jerusalem to Jericho is a real place that is still considered dangerous for travelers even today".
Summary:
The story is about a Samaritan, a Levite and a Priest who were travelling at different times on the same road. The majority of the people in the story would have been members of the Hebrew Faith. Each person had a different way of focusing on their faith. Samaritans during that time likely would have been looked down upon or scorned because of their intense focus on following the rules of the Hebrew Faith. They were considered "The Keepers of the Law". The
Priests
were focused on how to worship God and the Levites were focused on self-sacrifice. The
Priests
, Levites and Samaritans did not get along. The Priest and Levite in this story were likely worried about becoming "unclean" by touching a corpse or someone considered "unclean".
