Fisheries Research Board of Canada. Technical report ; no. 219.

Online version of document.
Description:
242 p. : ill. ; 28 cm.
Summary:
Limited studies were initiated in
St
. Margaret's
Bay
in June and July 1966, in order to establish some of the very gross characteristics of the
Bay
. With this background the 1967, 1968 and 1969 program was designed to provide more detailed spatial and temporal information on tides and tidal currents, residual
circulation
, temperature and salinity structure, as well as the fluctuations in parameters ranging from a period of a few days to those occurring on a seasonal basis. From the extensive field measurement program, it was hoped that one would both obtain a reliable description of the physical oceanography of the
Bay
, and establish some of the fundamental features that determine the
circulation
, flushing and behaviour of such coastal embayments. Research conducted by the Bedford Institute of Oceanography Marine Ecology Laboratory (now called Marine Ecology Laboratory (Canada)).
