These guidelines reflect the minimum requirements under the Water and Wastewater Facilities and Public Drinking Water Supplies Regulations made pursuant to the Environment Act. The objective is to ensure that consumers of water provided by a public drinking water supply in Nova Scotia have safe drinking water. Systematic water quality monitoring and immediate notification and corrective action are essential elements to a comprehensive water supply protection program.
