The purpose of these guidelines is to assist an owner of a public drinking water supply with developing and implementing an acceptable water quality monitoring program. These guidelines reflect the minimum requirements under the Water and Wastewater Facilities and Public Drinking Water Supplies Regulations made pursuant to the

. The objective is to ensure that consumers of water provided by a public drinking water supply in
Nova
Scotia
have safe drinking water. Systematic water quality monitoring and immediate notification and corrective action are essential elements to a comprehensive water supply protection program.
