Summary:
A visual supplement to his memoir Theft by Finding: Diaries 1977-2002, this book, consisting mostly of illustrations, allows readers for the first time to experience the memorabilia included within the diaries David Sedaris has kept for nearly 40 years in the elaborate, three-dimensional, collaged style of the originals. A celebration of the unexpected in the everyday, the beautiful and the grotesque, this visual compendium offers unique insight into the author's view of the world. Compiled and edited by Sedaris's longtime friend Jeffrey Jenkins, and including interactive components, photos and artwork.
"David Sedaris is an
American
humorist, comedian, author, and radio contributor. His essay collections include Barrel Fever (1994), Naked (1997), Holidays on Ice (1997), Me Talk Pretty One Day (2000), Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim (2004), When You Are Engulfed in Flames (2008), Let's Explore Diabetes with Owls (2013). In 2017 he published a collection of his 1977-2002 diaries, Theft By Finding. Much of Sedaris' humor is ostensibly autobiographical and self-deprecating, and often concerns his family life, his sister, actress Amy Sedaris, his middle-class upbringing in the suburbs of Raleigh, North Carolina, his Greek heritage, homosexuality, jobs, education, drug use, and obsessive behaviors, and his life in France, London, and the English South Downs"--From wikipedia.org website.
