Summary:
In Germany in the 1930s, gay men went from living in one of the most sexually liberal and accepting countries in the world to existing in a constant state of fear from the threat of raids, arrests, prison sentences, and possible death. When the Nazis built the concentration camps, homosexual men were imprisoned. The pink triangle was sewn onto their prison uniforms, just as the Star of David was sewn onto those of the Jews. This history is brought to life with stories of bravery in the face of inhuman cruelty, friendship found in the depths of despair in the camps, and the perseverance of the human spirit.
