Starting with the inauguration of Barack Obama in 2009 and working back to the early 1960s, Hunter-Gault covers many of the significant moments in the civil rights movement, including her own pivotal role in desegregating the University of Georgia. Includes many photographs.
Charlayne
Hunter-Gault is a journalist and foreign correspondent for National Public Radio. In 1961, she was one of two black students to desegregate the University of Georgia. She later went on to win two Emmy awards and a Peabody award for her work with PBS Television's The NewsHour. She currently divides her time between South Africa and Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts.
