"A DVD collection of the early student and commissioned film work of American filmmaker David Lynch. The films are listed in chronological order, with brief descriptions of each film. The DVD contains introductions by Lynch to each film, which can be viewed individually"--From wikipedia.org website.
A collection of visionary director David Lynch's short films from the first 29 years of his career is accompanied by a special introduction to each film by the director himself. Six men getting sick: This animated film was originally shown as a continuous loop with the film going through the projector and up to the ceiling and then back down, keeping the film going continuously in a loop. The alphabet, and, The grandmother: Two rare shorts from the modern day master of the surreal. The Alphabet is Lynch's answer to the teachings of the alphabet on children's shows like Sesame Street, and the fear and pain connected with learning. It is a bizarre, revolting and terrifying account of a bedridden young girl apparently being tortured by the alphabet. Against a backdrop of bizarre shapes and textures, a small organic figure gives birth to the letters of the alphabet while a mixture of children's voices and an operatic tune are singing out. The figure's head collapses causing blood to rain on the girl while she lays in her bed. In The Grandmother an abused and trouble young boy plants some strange seeds and they grow into a grandmother. Short and surreal, it is David Lynch's third film.
