Rez.: Alyson lebt mit ihrem Freund Walker in der kanadischen Wildnis. Sie lieben sich, aber Alyson qulen die Erinnerungen an ihren Vater, der Selbstmord beging, und Walker leidet unter Panikattacken, �ber deren Ursachen er nicht spricht. Als Alyson ein Kind bekommt, das kurz nach der Geburt an einem Herzfehler stirbt, gibt sie unbewusst Walker die Schuld daran und zieht sich ganz in sich zur�ck. In einer alten Blockh�tte findet sie das Tagebuch von Margaret, die 1859 mit ihrer Familie von Schottland nach Kanada auswanderte. Nach dem Tod der Eltern versuchten Margaret und ihre 3 Br�der die Wildnis zu kultivieren. Als ihr Verlobter bei einem Unfall ums Leben kam, den ihre Br�der indirekt verschuldeten, wurde Margaret zu einer Einzelgñgerin, die sich ganz der Krũterheilkunde widmete. Zwischen den Zeilen glaubt Alyson zu lesen, dass Margaret ihre Br�der umbrachte.
