Summary:
"
Brian
CR
Staple
is a long time resident of Musquodoboit Harbour, Nova Scotia. In 1964 at the age of 12, he wanted to fulfill his dreams of becoming a famous Rock and Roll star. Well, it didn't happen and by 1974 'reality' overtook his hopes. However, in 1996, he began to compile his Rock and Roll Band's memoirs into a book, finally completing them in 2020. Hence 'Friday Night Dances' was born. Based around the mid 60's and early 70's timelines, this novel describes the going-ons where Mr.
Staple
, or better known as 'the chief', had performed at various dance halls along Nova Scotia's Eastern Shore. His story line is based around interesting details of what had happended during those performances and dance hall politics. He also describes other noteworthy tangible events related to this era; especially those that took place on the once famous, also gone, Save easy parking lot. 'No' he states, 'we didn't make the big times, but we did provide many solid hours of good old Rock and Roll music to the enthusiastic dancing crowds. These times were good times that filled a social chunk of our teenage years, and that's irreplaceable!'" --Back cover.
