Description:
1 v. (unpaged) : chiefly ill. ; 21 cm.
Summary:
In order to help immerse himself in Japanese culture during a six-month period he spent living abroad in Tokyo (Jan. 2-July 3 2006), German comic artist
Dirk
Schwieger
kept a weekly webcomic blog on which he asked his fans to dare him to try all sorts of different things--exotic, disgusting, revealing, whatever! This book documents the results of that project in a blend that is part travelogue and part graphic novel. In addition to completing his own assignments,
Schwieger
sent messages to other comic artists around the globe asking them to meet and talk with Japanese people living in their respective cities and to document these conversations. The book also features comics detailing the results of these efforts from participants including James Kochalka, Steve Havelka, Leo Leowald, Ryan North, Olivier Texier, Monsieur Le Chien, Thomas Gilke, Yassine & Toma Bletner, and Marcel Guldemond.
