    Summary: 
    The Man in the Yellow Mittens is a story of a young girl, Greta, whose family recently moved to Nova Scotia. Unfamiliar with Nor’easters, a common occurrence in this Maritime province, she finds herself caught in a frightening blizzard. Freezing and barely conscious, Greta is rescued by a strange figure. When Greta awakens, she is in the hospital, surrounded by her family. Confused and still groggy, Greta recounts her tale of her unknown rescuer to a nurse, who tells the young girl he is quite famous in the area and is known to the locals as The Man in the Yellow Mittens. Greta is so grateful she sets out to find the mysterious man so she can thank him personally but soon discovers this may not be as easy as she thought.
