    Summary:
Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla—once a small town priest—is now justly considered the Father of Mexico. He was the first leader to organize an army constituted by people who disagreed with the colonial regime of what once was then New Spain (1521-1810) This book talks about the military strategies and the political ideology of this catholic priest, viewed from testimonies of three people who took part in the Mexican fight for independence. These three testimonies, which represent the different political ideologies at the time— that is, conservative, liberal and moderate—will prompt a discussion about the motives which led Hidalgo to rise to arms, as well as the transformation of his political ideals. -- Abebooks.
