The creative team of Mike Carey and Peter Gross present an epic, stand-alone tale that serves as the perfect prequel to the Unwritten series. Exploring the origins of Tommy Taylor's mysterious powers and the odyssey his father has sent him on, it is partly told through Tom's father's journal entries but the main narrative is the beginning of the Tommy Taylor story making this both a prequel and a parallel story in the Unwritten series. Tom Taylor has lived his life being mistaken for Tommy Taylor, the boy wizard from the world-famous series of novels penned by Tom's long-lost father Wilson. However, after a series of strange events start to parallel the lives of both Taylors--fictional and real--Tom realizes that he might be the character on page made flesh.
