Lurdita asks Manita to change the virgin of the church to The Black Virgin. Behind everybody's back and with the approval of Isabel, the founder of the town, The Black Virgin becomes their new patron. Strange things now begin to happen in this fishing village changing the routine of its inhabitants: there is no longer darkness, the violence is stopped, and people fall in love again. Lurdita leaves the town saying others might need her help. One morning, kids are playing baseball and a ball gets hit so hard that it breaks the image of The Black Virgin. Concerns arise again in the town as things begin to change once more."--Container.
