Summary:
In 1887 George Arnold Burbidge passed the examinations of the Nova Scotia
Pharmaceutical
Society. He had apprenticed with the drug firm of Brown Brothers and Company. In 1908, at the request of the Society, he began teaching evening classes in Pharmacy, held at the Nova Scotia Technical College. In 1911 the Pharmacy school was given the name The Nova Scotia College of Pharmacy and moved to the Forrest Building on the Dalhousie University campus. In 1917 the school was renamed The Maritime College of Pharmacy, and in 1925 Mr. Burbidge was appointed Dean of the college.
