    The Guide program encourages girls to live by the values laid out in the Promise and Law. Girls engage in their communities through service projects; they gain an understanding of the lives of people in other countries, and begin to take a stand on issues that are important to them, such as the environment. Guides encourages leadership skills by allowing girls to make decisions about unit activities, and by allowing them to organize parties and teach each other games and skills. Through badges Guides learn skills, develop awareness, explore ideas and expand their understanding of the world around them.
