    Summary:
Twelve-year-old Maddie feels less than special, even though, as her grandmother tells it, she was rescued by a ghost as an infant. She's spent her life being shuttled from one foster home to another and then ends up at the East Tennessee Children's Home. One day, a new girl, Murphy shows up at the home armed with tales of exotic places and being able to fly. Maddie lets her guard down and shows Murphy her beloved scrapbook, filled with pictures of places she yearns to live. This one gesture will end up challenging Maddie's ideas of what home and family are all about.
