    Summary:
How is Costco able to keep the price of its foot-long hot dog at $1.50 since 1985? Why is employee productivity twice that of comparable retailers? Why does Costco Japan have the largest bakery operation in the whole system? Join David and Susan to get the answers to these questions and more, which they learned by visiting over 200 of Costco's warehouses.
David Schwartz is the author of several books. David spent much of his youth in San Francisco, where his parents were early members of Price Club, Costco's predecessor. Susan Schwartz worked in marketing at Nabisco and General Foods in the 1980s when mass merchandising was still considered an "alternate channel" of distribution. She grew up in Philadelphia where she delighted in shopping at Costco with her parents. Susan and David are proud grandparents and avid birdwatchers.
