    Summary:
"Patti Smith is recognised as the "Godmother of Punk", and also for her artistic diversity and integrity. Moving to New York City in 1967, Smith soon found herself in the centre of a blossoming NYC "alternative" art scene, that included authors, poets, photographers, and of course, intense and innovative musicians! Patti Smith was capable of relating to all these various artistic disciplines, and continues to be seen as a significant contributor in each. Legend has her being discovered by Clive Davis, the founder and president of Arista Records at one of her historic performances at the NYC punk landmark venue CBGB. This partnership is noted for the creation of three consecutive albums that are universally recognised as pillars of the New York Punk Rock scene that continues to influence today's musical styles. This DVD spans several eras of Smith's career, and features a cross section of impressive musical talent accompanying one of modern rocks most influential and artistically diverse legends."--Container.
