Der alte Hase freundet sich mit dem kleinen Rotkehlchen an, das auch im Winter im Wald singt. Es erinnert ihn an seine jungen Jahre und wie er damals tanzte. Bei einem Wintersturm fürchtet der Hase, der Sturm habe den kleinen Vogel davongeweht und geht ihn suchen, trotz seiner schmerzenden Knochen. Schliesslich findet der ihn, und hilft ihm vor seinem Bau ein neues Nest zu bauen. Als der Vogel wieder singt, mag sogar der alte Hase trotz alter Knochen ein wenig dazu tanzen.
