Summary:
Young Phoebe, a slave girl picks cotton by day and dreams of flying at night. She hears stories of the Underground Railraod but her parents forbid her to consider a flight to freedom or to befriend the outspoke runaway slave Liney. She gets her chance to make a dash for freedom, and eventually is safe in Canada.
