  • Alternate title:
Getting started toolbox : innovative use of resources in adult literacy
    Description:
    1 binder (73 pages, + dividers) ; 30 cm.
    Bibliography:
    Includes bibliography.
    Summary:
The Getting Started Toolbox is meant to be a spring board for learners with very basic literacy skills. Familiar concepts are introduced using a hands-on approach as in the lesson on counting money. The lessons are guides for the tutors and will certainly require adaptation to meet the needs of the learner. Tutors are encouraged to add new lessons and resources to the toolbox at any time. This will keep information current. The goal for this project was to take existing resources and new hands-on resources and show how they can be used in innovative ways. Hopefully the tutor will find this approach helpful and that it provides the learners with information they can use in their everyday living.
