"This project began as a news feature for Third Wave Radio (Thursdays 14:00 - 15:30 on CKDU 88.1FM in Halifax or ckdu.ca) in fall 2009. Gianna Lauren approached two midwives working in Halifax and Bridgewater NS, members of the
Midwifery
Coalition in
Nova
Scotia
, and a Halifax resident who recently gave birth with the assistance of a midwife. As the stories began to unfold, an intrigue developed and the wealth of experiences of working midwives suggested that this topic deserves a larger audience. This audio project is supported by the Community Radio Fund of Canada and CKDU FM. This project will act as an educational resource.
